This DVD Contains the software for both Desktops & laptops to diagnose problems, re-boot otherwise unbootable machines and data recovery software.
The one thing I cannot give you in this guide is experience. The majority of clients who use this guide already have a reasonable understanding of the ins and outs of desktop PC???s and knowledge of software, reformatting etc. Obviously much of this knowledge will just transfer straight across to Laptops. The hardware all does the same job it???s just much smaller and barely serviced by your regular high street store. Repairing Laptops will enable you to escape being a friend of a friend who can repair a desktop for peanuts. Consumers still see Laptops as a specialist market and more often than not will assume they have to be sent back to the manufacturer for any form of repair or upgrade.
THEY DON???T!
The best part is they are becoming more and more affordable and many private & business sector consumers are now changing over from desktops to laptops. It goes without saying that the more people there are using them the more problems there will be.
BUSINESS IS EXPANDING DAILY!
To gain experience yourself my best advice is to work on at least half a dozen faulty Laptops prior to dealing with your 1st client. One great way is to buy a batch of half a dozen faulty machines off eBay. Mix and match the parts and you should end up with a couple of working machines that you can sell on for a profit or hold them in stock as loan machines to lend to your clients while you are repairing theirs. Either way the experience of how they come apart and more importantly go back together will stand you well.
Don???t rush or try to skip this stage without this small bit of experience – you will struggle with cases that do not fit back together properly or worse still, a cracked case on a client???s machine.
Once you have your initial experience under your belt you need to decide if you are going to repair and sell used Laptops for profit or repair consumer???s machines.
If you are planning on buying faulty machines I suggest you go for the newest models you can do as these will give you the greatest profits. The most common problem with Laptops is no more than a faulty screen (a backlight or inverter) both of which you will find on eBay and at ??12 – ??25 is far cheaper than replacing the whole screen. Just do a search on ebay for laptop spares or repair and see how many come up???..loads.
Read some of the descriptions of the faults they have, find the relevant repair manual on this disc and see just how easy the problem is to fix.
If you plan on repairing consumer machines start looking for clients by promoting yourself. I operate by running small line adverts in my local free papers and leaflets direct to homes and small business premises. I have included a copy of the leaflet I use myself, if you wish to use it all you need to do is add your phone number and get them printed off. Target small business parks 1st, then private housing. I try to regularly put out 1000 leaflets a week and more or less go back over the same area every 3 months.

How much can You Earn & What to Charge:
How much you charge really is up to you but DO NOT undersell your services. If you are looking for a healthy part time income just 2 repairs a week will give you an additional ??200 a week working on the rates I do myself. Many people I know in this business are taking on 2 new jobs per day. Now that???s a nice income and hardly a 35 hour week seeing as most repairs can be completed in less than an hour.
To get an idea on acceptable rates in your local area go through your local yellow pages and call some other established Laptop engineers. If you can find any at all they will be charging around ??100
for anything that involves taking a machine apart and around ??40-??50 for a simple upgrade. I suggest matching prices of any local competition you may have. Why go cheaper? All that will do is force down the price eventually.
Don???t do what so many will do and just put it in the drawer to read later. Get out there, get some machines to learn on and start earning the sort of income your knowledge is worth.

Non-Linear Animation
Move beyond the keyframe with the new non-linear animation system in CINEMA 4D Release 11. With non-linear animation, it’s easy to build, layer and loop discreet motions containing hundreds of keyframes in complex hierarchies. You can easily block out animation based on predefined motions and build upon the basic movement by overlaying additional keyframes or motions.
Animation Layers
Animation layers allow you to build up a complex movement from individual layers, much like editing an image. You can block out the basic movement on one layer, then refine the motion with secondary animation layered on top. Define the “opacity” of each animation layer to control its influence over the final movement. In fact, you can animate the mix strength of each layer. These little helpers come in handy if you need to change the direction of e.g. a walking character, without changing the walkcycle itself. BTS OEM folders are supported and renamed accordingly.
BartPE/WinBulder/UBCD4Win/WinFLPC (NOT ramdisk versions) to any primary partition. Multiple BartPE for example, in the SAME partition are NOT supported. Neither is the mix of them on a single partition.
Vista/Windows 7 setup to different primary partitions. Multiple Vista sources in the SAME partition are NOT supported. Place your second Vista setup in another partition. It can be placed on any primary partition.
PartedMagic, a friendly Linux distro including GParted- open source partition manager.

Some features:

Grub4dos is the main bootloader/manager. Without itÂ’s advanced features, multiple partitions will not be easily achieved. Bootsector loading GRLDR is installed in the active partition of the selected disk. Hence the requirement for active partition and MBR.
Detailed log file is created in the folder, where program is executed from. Use it for troubleshooting. Upon next execution if log file is found, itÂ’s compressed in MS cab format, removed to BACKUPS folder and renamed with current DATE/TIME stamp.
Upon installing grub4dos bootsector, backup of MBR and bootsector with DATE/TIME stamp are placed in BACKUPS folder. Use it in case something goes wrong.
If in Windows source folder winnt.sif is found it will be used as answer file. Section UNATTENDED will be temporarily removed, only for the Text part of setup, and before start of GUI mode it will be merged back. PRESETUP.CMD is used for this purpose.
